As noted, NBA 2K16 got a lot of praise for NBA 2K22 MT the MyLeague mode that allowed players to take on things like moving franchises. NBA 2K17 took that to the next level. The teams of all 30 could be relocated, and expansion teams may also be added.

In reality, anyone could make their own league with their own cities, teams and other details. It is also possible to control and change the rules of the league, which was never heard of. They were well-respected by their players and their presentation. All-Star Paul George was on the cover.Another participant claimed the scheme reportedly had "so many people" sign up for it that Rack and Raangee the other NBA 2K player who was allegedly part of the scheme, drafted an FAQ document in order to explain the way it functioned. A document that was obtained from P.TV, Raangee claimed he was just "the guy who gets the chance to help people", while Rack as well as another accomplice known as Calvin, who does not seem to be part of the NBA 2K community, dealt on the financial aspect of the scheme. (P.TV was unable to contact Calvin and has decided not to release his name.

Rangee states in the FAQ document that "First of all I want to Buy 2K22 MT say that what we are doing isn't even illegal." The FAQ document was obtained from P.TV. "If it were illegal we wouldn't be doing this because I don't believe that any amount of money is worth going to jail. Consider that if this was a scam I and [Rack] will not go to the trouble of publishing our names for the public to see. This community is too dear to me and I have invested a lot time getting my name out there."
